Were not we born too early?

Have you ever wished that you were born in future? Yeah, many people have and at least have thought about it. Human has seen a vast progress and a giant leap in all sciences in recent ages which totally changed the world and lifestyles. As time passes, sciences accelerate in progress and undoubtedly bring about more and more comfort, health, facilities, entertainments and joys. Just close your eyes and get on your time machine and go back through the history. Don’t go so far, just nearby centuries. Now open your eyes, what do you see? Ouch! There is nothing. Don’t mention facilities, there is not enough food, there is not health. They are just cholera, pest and other diseases that massacre humans. You must shiver in the winter and boil in the summer. You must laboriously work all day long to sate your hunger and there is not any technology to assist you. “Drag water from the well and bring it in, haven’t you axed the timbers, hurry up you must clean the stable and milk the cows either “your father of that time calls. That’s enough, get on the time machine and come to your own time. O God! You have faced a technical problem and you have trapped in that time… “Oh, what a nightmare” you might say. Actually the people’s view in the future toward your time will be the same. They will feel pity for you and won’t stand to even think to be in your time. Some people get the issue so serious so they go to some institutes and give a lot of money to freeze in special conditions to keep the rest of their life for 100 years later. So again, were not we born too early? Actually the answer is “Yes” for some and “No” for some else. It depends to your philosophy of life. What is the goal of life in your viewpoint? Is it just material proposes: to enjoy, eating, to be entertained and something like these? So your answer must be “Yes” because your goals will be more fulfilled in future and you must know that you will always feel determent and lose, because there is a future for every future and you will never meet the goal of your life perfectly. But if your goal of life is to own all virtues, be a good human whom God expects and be beneficial for others, the answer is “No”. No matter for a man with these goals that he was born before the history or in a far future. He always has opportunities to make the most of his age. Actually these are the people who build the future. They always look to fulfill their commitment to their time and try to do their duty in the best way and upon their endeavor and industry, a compelling future emerges and flourishes. They see the comfort of others their own comfort and may prefer it upon their own. They are not selfish but selfless, they don’t expect the time to serve them but they serve their time. for instance, i have Imam Ali in my mind now. He used to work for people, dig wells and make gardens for people’s welfare all day long, and bring food for the poor during the night. He did not change his attitude even when he got the ruler. He was truly the father of orphans. He used to say “whoever is the most lucrative for the people is the best of them. Now, after more than 1300 years many people look up to him as their pattern. You can be in your time and be the best in all times to an extent that people in the future whish to be instead of you….Now make your mind, but I advice you not to use the time machine lest a technical problem occurs.

Why do Muslim women cover themselves

Women are beautiful and by instinct like to show their beauty. Like men they have right to do their activity in society freely and without any limitation. But why is that Muslim women cover themselves and are stingy and tight-fisted of coloring the society with their beauty and charm? Why they accept the limitations emerged by their covering (HIJAB)? Questions like these occur when a Muslim woman is observed covering herself and somebody may feel pity toward her. But Muslim women do not see covering as these people see. While many women in the western coteries suffer from sexual harassment at work places, Muslim woman take part in serious social activities feeling secure. Actually HIJAB provides a safe and secure situation for women to work and have effective role in society. They regard HIJAB as immunity not limitation. They see that with HIJAB society does not look at them just as pieces of beauty but honors them because of their reason, knowledge and skills. Just a cursory glance at surveys and statistics about sexual harassments that took place at work places, faculties and schools in western societies confirm that the only solution is HIJAB. Surveys indicate that more than half the women in the work force in the United States have experienced Sexual Harassment. The book Shockwaves: The Global Impact of Sexual Harassment, by Susan L. Webb, cites the following statistics:*
CANADA: "One survey showed that 4 out of 10 women reported being sexually harassed at work."
JAPAN: "An August 1991 survey showed that 70 percent of the women who responded experienced" harassment at work. "Ninety percent said they were sexually harassed on the way to and from work."
AUSTRIA: "A 1986 survey showed almost 31 percent of women reported serious harassment incidents."
FRANCE: "In 1991 a study . . . found that 21 percent of the 1,300 women surveyed said they had personally experienced sexual harassment."
THE NETHERLANDS: A study showed that "58 percent of the women responding [to the survey] said they had personally experienced sexual harassment."
Regarding these statistics and some other horrifying surveys, it can be proved that who is limited in social activity; Muslim women covering HIJAB or others.
Honestly, imagine a woman who has covered her hair and beauties and other not, which is more endangered by sexual harassment.
Women guarantee the society to be healthy and the family to be firm and immune of collapse. A Man who daily sees many beautiful women whom maybe are more attractive than his wife, gradually lose his love and tendency toward his wife and may cheat on her. On the other hand, undoubtedly women without cover are more exposed to lust of other men and hear amorous words and feel love toward others rather than their husbands. The family in such societies does not have a firm foundation and endangered with collapse. Actually, why is that in U.S.A, 50 percent of marriages end in divorce. Why is that about 22 percent of American men commit adultery, while 11 percent of women dare to do likewise….these numbers have never been observed in societies whose women adhere to HIJAB. If you ask a Muslim woman that why she cover HIJAB she will answer you that because my religion asked me to do so and they are right; There is a verse in Qur’an that says: “O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the faithful to draw closely over themselves their cloak [when going out]. That makes it likely for them to be recognized and not be troubled, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful”.
Now, if you encounter a Muslim woman cowering herself, you may praise her for preference God’s will over her lust of showing her beauty, and for her respect and honor toward your family.

Die before your death

We all like life and don’t like to die and it is not just us but every living creature is the same. Imagine a little ant for example. It escapes every thing that may endanger its life. It finds its life as sweet as we do. A harmony of milliards of our sells echoes the love toward life, so we love it and dislike what takes it away.
But death is not that bad. If we close our eye of self interest, and open the eye of general goodness, we will judge in another way. Death is beautiful in the harmony of life without which the universe would be imperfect. Fearing death is instinctual and is not bad to some extent as long as it is natural. We fear death so we protect ourselves from whatever causes death like diseases and incidents. Death provides the condition for upcoming generations. Death maintains the life and guarantees its continuance on the earth. People generally hate to even think about death but to think about it, results good effects on both personal and social aspects of human’s life. Why are some people and some governments so argent? If they had thought about the fate of those precede them that how death ended their reign which was thought to have no end, they would have changed their attitude and review their temperament toward other people and other countries. The kings and queens who had been ringed with guards, generals, servants, jiggers and bards, were surrounded by worms, ants, scorpions and snakes after their death. If we think about death we get ready for it trying as far as possible to do good toward other people to leave a good and glorious record of ourselves in the mind of history. It is proved philosophically and scientifically that we are not just this material body but we have a soul that constitutes our reality and it is what we understand with and our organs work as it’s tools. The Soul is immaterial and immortal so death is not the end but a transition and a doorway toward another world that we do not know much about it but what we have been informed by the most honest people and they are the prophets. They told us that we will be rewarded or punished there over what we do here in this life. This material world does not have that capacity to give the people their full punishment and reward. for instance this world gives a murderer who massacred thousands of people the same punishment that a murderer of one man receives Let alone the guilty who never receive their punishment in this word or virtue men who endeavored and sacrificed for the sake of humanity but did not receive their reword but were punished or tortured or killed instead. If people think about death and the reckoning after it, they will value their time in this world and do good as far as they can and avoid misdeeds and oppression.
If we consider other people’s death and think that they will die, we will be more compassionate towards them. Imagine you knew that your friend will die in near future, how your temperament towards him or her would be. You would forgive him or her for his or her misdeeds toward you, you would visit him or her more often and so on and so forth. There are very advantages in remembrance the death that Prophet Mohammad said: die before your death.
Death will come one day and will end all our wishes and we don’t know when, where and how we will die. It is interesting that we are so conscious about many uncertain things but we are oblivious about death which is inevitable and certain. Imagine a world that all think about death, what would happen. What would happen if rulers and governors of the world thought of death? How the world might look like if American state and President Bush considered their death. Let’s live with death and enjoy the best life on the best world.

Woman in Islamic culture

by: sayyed roohollah moosavi
Observing Qoranic perspective woman is equal to man in every human qualities and both have been created from one essence (Quran-4,1).
Woman was being humiliated and neglected in ignorance time (the time before Islam) but thanks to Islam and the prophet's instructions, woman found its real states .
Holy prophet would make an especial reverence towards women. Ordered by Qoraan ,he particularly and separately hold a session for women's allegiance .
While ignorant Arabs before Islam were burying their daughters alive, filling humiliated and shame, Holy prophet of Islam was repeatedly kissing his daughter's "Fatima" hand, saying: Fatima is a part of my body whoever makes her happy, has made me happy and whoever makes her sad, has made me sad.
Holy prophet always emphasized on the value of daughters describing them as companion, valuable, compassionate, preparer and auspicious. Islam did not prevent women's presence in social activities but with a cursory glance in the history of Islam we see women in immigrations, wars, concluding the contrasts, allegiances etc with men. like men, women in Islamic point of view can conquer high spiritual picks and - as Qur'an said about Maria (Jesus's mother) and Ferro's wife - be the pattern for all the faithful.
Fatima the daughter of holy prophet reached a stat to be the pattern of patterns. Imam Sadegh said we (Imams) are God’s reason Upon the creations and Fatima is god’s reason upon us. expected Imam Mahdi said: surely Fatima is a good pattern for me. Fatima in Shiite thought is an example of a perfect human being who was among 14 infallibles .
Second woman after Fatima in Shia perspective is Zaynab- Fatima's daughter- who although does not have the chastity state but has a great dignity.Women had an important role in Shia history in defending Shia leadership and maintaining it and in Ashura catastrophe it is evident. according to Shia narrations 50 of 313 of expected Mahdi's top companions are in his reappearance time will be women. how ever undoubtedly each of man and woman has especial physical and spiritual characteristics which made some differences in their legal rules . Although Islam permitted and some times obligated woman’s presence in social activities but considered her most important responsibility in the family as wife and mother in educating human beings and it is because of the high states of family in Islam from which the society is shaped.

Youth in Shiite prespective

by: Sayyed Roohollah Moosavi

According to the narrations of Ahlulbayt youth is an essential stage in human’s lifetime.
Imam Ali likened the teenager’s heart to a blank field which whatever is planted within will grow.
It is quoted from Imam Baghir-the fifth Imam- (p.b.u.h): if I was brought a Shiite youth who was not learning the religion deeply, I would chastise him. Imam Sadigh-the sixth Imam- (p.b.u.h) said: I would not like to see your youth but in two conditions, ether they were scholars or students.
Holy prophet of Islam valued the youths very much and was bearing them heavy responsibilities. For example the first preacher that he sent to Madina was a 20year old man named Musaab. the first ruler that holy prophet appointed for Mecca after it was conquered was another 20 year old youth named Itab Ibn Asil and Osama was a 19year old youth who was appointed as the commander of the army by holy prophet in his last days.
Holy prophet said:”I advise you to do good to your youth, because they are more tender hearted. Truly god sent me as bearer of good news and dad news so the youths swore to help me and the old opposed me.
According to a narration quoted from Imam Ali all the companions of expected Imam Mahdi are youth but a few.
It is in Sunni and Shi'i narration sources that Imam Hassan and Imam Husain are the masters of youth of paradise.

The mistery of a word

By: Sayyed Roohollah Moosavi

He stepped on the stage confidently. His young, lovely face was shining with a dim smile articulating a great determination. It was his turn to try a weight which none of his competitors could lift.
Mr. Hossein Rezazadeh , the most powerful man on the world, located behind the weight. He had worn his usual shirt with a big word in Arabic on its front side: O, Abulfadl.
Concerned and anxious, all the spectators gazed at him whose face was expressing peace and calmness. He bent down, fitted his hands on the rod of the weight, clenched it firmly and with a quick movement lifted it on his hands.
Astonished and amazed, the saloon exploded with an intense cheering. Still keeping the weight above his head, he nodded to respond to the people's feelings toward him. Then put the weight down and raised his hands to thank God. then he lifted the word on his shirt toward his lips and kissed it several times to show that the heart of the most powerful man which recalls rocks in firmness, is beating with passion for Abulfadl Al-Abbas the man of power and love.

Abulfadl is regarded as the model of politeness, innocence and loyalty by every body who knows him. He personified all virtues in his life. While he was so attractive that was known as the moon of Hashim's sons, he was so strong, brave and good at warfare techniques that no warlike dared to confront him. In the tragedy of Karbala he accompanied his brother and leader Imam Husain (p.b.u.h) and held the banner of Imam's side. Imam Husain's caravan, including men, women, and children of his family, was outnumbered in Karbala. Their enemy was so crud and stonyhearted that prevented them to have access to the river so they did not have water to quench their thirst in that burning desert. Abulfadl who saw the children's crying and thirst went towards the river which was surrounded by the enemy and with a great transcendence penetrated through them and reached the river. It was very hot and he was so thirsty that his hands went towards the water involuntarily. He took a handful of water and lifted it near his dry lips but suddenly he remembered his brother and thirsty children so he poured the water back, then he filled the goatskin in which they used to keep water and rushed his horse towards the camp but enemy's soldiers who lied in ambush for him behind date-palm trees attached him and cut his right hand but he kept the goatskin by his left hand. Enemy didn’t want that water to reach the camp, so they cut his left hand too. Abulfadl still did not lose his hope and clenched the goatskin with his teeth but they shot an arrow which hit the goatskin and all the water poured on the ground just like his hope. The champion did not have any hand to hold the sword and fight so they seized the time and surrounded him by their swords, spears, arrows and even stones….
Abulfadl, the moon of Hashem's sons set in the red horizon of blood and fell down on the hot sand of Karbala and hopelessly called his brother. Imam Husain hurried towards his brother but….. It was too late. Imam Husain could not bring Abolfadl's body back to camp because they cut him in pieces cruelly. Abulfadl was killed but his shrine and his beautiful golden dome glows in Karbala and above all, his glorious sacrifice flames in every heart which is beating for beauty and human values.
