Woman in Islamic culture

by: sayyed roohollah moosavi
Observing Qoranic perspective woman is equal to man in every human qualities and both have been created from one essence (Quran-4,1).
Woman was being humiliated and neglected in ignorance time (the time before Islam) but thanks to Islam and the prophet's instructions, woman found its real states .
Holy prophet would make an especial reverence towards women. Ordered by Qoraan ,he particularly and separately hold a session for women's allegiance .
While ignorant Arabs before Islam were burying their daughters alive, filling humiliated and shame, Holy prophet of Islam was repeatedly kissing his daughter's "Fatima" hand, saying: Fatima is a part of my body whoever makes her happy, has made me happy and whoever makes her sad, has made me sad.
Holy prophet always emphasized on the value of daughters describing them as companion, valuable, compassionate, preparer and auspicious. Islam did not prevent women's presence in social activities but with a cursory glance in the history of Islam we see women in immigrations, wars, concluding the contrasts, allegiances etc with men. like men, women in Islamic point of view can conquer high spiritual picks and - as Qur'an said about Maria (Jesus's mother) and Ferro's wife - be the pattern for all the faithful.
Fatima the daughter of holy prophet reached a stat to be the pattern of patterns. Imam Sadegh said we (Imams) are God’s reason Upon the creations and Fatima is god’s reason upon us. expected Imam Mahdi said: surely Fatima is a good pattern for me. Fatima in Shiite thought is an example of a perfect human being who was among 14 infallibles .
Second woman after Fatima in Shia perspective is Zaynab- Fatima's daughter- who although does not have the chastity state but has a great dignity.Women had an important role in Shia history in defending Shia leadership and maintaining it and in Ashura catastrophe it is evident. according to Shia narrations 50 of 313 of expected Mahdi's top companions are in his reappearance time will be women. how ever undoubtedly each of man and woman has especial physical and spiritual characteristics which made some differences in their legal rules . Although Islam permitted and some times obligated woman’s presence in social activities but considered her most important responsibility in the family as wife and mother in educating human beings and it is because of the high states of family in Islam from which the society is shaped.

Youth in Shiite prespective

by: Sayyed Roohollah Moosavi

According to the narrations of Ahlulbayt youth is an essential stage in human’s lifetime.
Imam Ali likened the teenager’s heart to a blank field which whatever is planted within will grow.
It is quoted from Imam Baghir-the fifth Imam- (p.b.u.h): if I was brought a Shiite youth who was not learning the religion deeply, I would chastise him. Imam Sadigh-the sixth Imam- (p.b.u.h) said: I would not like to see your youth but in two conditions, ether they were scholars or students.
Holy prophet of Islam valued the youths very much and was bearing them heavy responsibilities. For example the first preacher that he sent to Madina was a 20year old man named Musaab. the first ruler that holy prophet appointed for Mecca after it was conquered was another 20 year old youth named Itab Ibn Asil and Osama was a 19year old youth who was appointed as the commander of the army by holy prophet in his last days.
Holy prophet said:”I advise you to do good to your youth, because they are more tender hearted. Truly god sent me as bearer of good news and dad news so the youths swore to help me and the old opposed me.
According to a narration quoted from Imam Ali all the companions of expected Imam Mahdi are youth but a few.
It is in Sunni and Shi'i narration sources that Imam Hassan and Imam Husain are the masters of youth of paradise.
